This Programme has gained interest from all over the country since it was launch by BSP.
The Programme started in the nation's capital and has reached further out into isolated areas of Central, Morobe, West New Britain, Milne Bay, Madang, Western Highlands, Southern Highlands, Northern and New Ireland provinces. From there, it moved further into five more new provinces in the last six months - Autonomous Region of Bougainville, East New Britain, Enga, East Sepik and Western Province.
One aspect of the Programme is the social message it brings with it (example: HIV and AIDS) for awareness and to keep everyone informed.
To give the Programme more boost, high profile international cricketers (like Murali last December) are invited to take part for more impact, showing commitment.
Last year, the School Kriket Programme has far exceeded BSP's expectations, receiving overwhelming support from School Principals, teachers and each of the local BSP Branch Managers and their staff who have grately contributed to its success.
Being involved in such activities has also encouraged a stronger team spirit at each of BSP's Branches. By getting involved with their local schools through the programme has built a closer relationship within each community. BSP's Branch Managers have proven that the hands-on approach to such sponsorships is beneficial to both the bank and the local communities.
It has continued to be highly successful and a programme that helps to develop new skills for young people as they progress through their school activities.
This further reinforces BSPs commitment for continuation of the sponsorship in the year ahead. This could be indicated by BSP's Marketing Department being already all set and ready to source adequate supplies of its very popular and colourful BSP T-Shirts, cricket bats, balls and other requirements essential to the programme's ongoing success.
At BSP, we look forward to a very positive year ahead as we take the BSP School Kricket Programme even further into more provinces.
