BSP serves up K20, 000 for Tennis and Squash School Development Program
The Port Moresby Racquets Club is a proud recipient of K20, 000 sponsorship from Bank South Pacific (BSP), to go toward its School Tennis and Squash School Development Program.
The Port Moresby Racquets Club School Development Program was reignited, in June 2019, with the participation of five (5) schools, Bavaroko Community School, Birdwing Independent School, Lahara Avenue School, Port Moresby Grammar Schools and Boroko Primary School who took part in the program.
Squash Director Merlyn Alarcos-Kriebisch thanked BSP for the continued assistance in the sport and also its development.
"The program aims at educating young minds about the sport of Tennis and Squash and pave way to find young talents to develop. We are grateful for the tremendous support from BSP," Ms Alarcos said.
"The bank's support will assist the Port Moresby Racquets Club, in organising and running coaching program for participating schools, during school holidays and introducing the sport to youngsters, as part of their Physical Education (PE) lessons during school
during Term 4," Ms Alarcos said.
The program aims to reach over 2000 students in the initial program through participating schools, and aims to reach more students, when we create awareness about the program.
BSP Corporate Sponsorship Manager Amelia Minnopu said, "Junior Sport Development has been a key part of BSP's Corporate and Social responsibility activities (CSR) for over five years, and the bank is excited to support the Port Moresby Racquets club."
"With our community values of sports, education and health, we believe our support will to give the most deserving and promising young talent the best possible chance of reaching the highest levels of the sport and developing the well being of the students."
