BSP Reaffirms Support for Rabaul Rugby
BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) continues to support junior school sports programs when presenting a K40,000 cheque to the Rabaul Rugby League Association (RRLA) in support of the Rabaul School Rugby program.
BSP Rabaul Branch Manager David Pilai when presenting the cheque to the RRLA said, “BSP has a longstanding tradition in helping local communities and in particular through schools in encouraging junior sport programs.”
“Having built a successful 2021 and 2022 season partnership with the Rabaul Rugby, we are honoured to once again support the local association in running its junior sports program, not only that but our support also helps towards upgrading facilities which will be used in the competition, sporting equipment and competition costs. Apart from that, we will also run Financial Literacy Training in selected schools that are participating in this competition,” he added.
“Sports plays an important role in keeping communities together, especially children and youths, to engage in healthy activities in a safe and supported environment. We are delighted that with the ongoing success of the partnership with schools in communities through different sports, our brand has associated well with the communities we operate in from the local to the international communities,” said Pilai.

“Since inception in 2021, with the support of BSP, we saw 750 students from five (5) different schools in Rabaul participate in the Rabaul Rugby School League program. In 2022 season, we saw 7 divisions participate and each division completing the year with Grand Finals. These divisions included the School who participated in the competition sponsored by BSP, from which, 6 schools participated with players and staff in the Under 14 boys, Under 16 Boy, Under 18 Boys and Under 18 Girls,” said Marum.
