Mark T. Robinson
Group Chief Executive Officer
Mark T. Robinson was appointed Group CEO of BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) in November 2022 and commenced work in March 2023.
Mr. Robinson is a senior financial services executive and globally experienced banking Chief Executive Officer with more than thirty years’ experience across developed and emerging markets.
Before his appointment as BSP Group CEO, his roles included CEO of Commercial Bank International, a publicly listed bank based in the United Arab Emirates, Regional CEO of ANZ Banking Group’s operations for Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Mr. Robinson held numerous senior executive roles with Citibank, including in India, Russia, Turkey and Hungary.
Mr. Robinson graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts and he also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Peter Beswick
Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Beswick has been BSP's Group General Manager, Corporate Banking since 2011. Prior to joining BSP, he worked for Price Waterhouse , Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank and Bank of New Zealand, having held executive positions in Corporate Banking, Audit, Risk Management, Business advisory - across Australia and South East Asia. Mr. Beswick has a Bachelor of Accounting from Macquarie University and is an MBA graduate of Macquarie Business School.
Maryann Lameko-Vaai
Acting Group Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Lameko-Vaai has been BSP’s Group General Manager Pacific Markets Since 2022. She joined BSP Samoa (Formerly Westpac Samoa) in 2012 as Head of Finance & Operations and was subsequently appointed Country Head in 2015. Prior to joining BSP, Ms. Lameko-Vaai worked for 15 years in various senior executive roles covering financial and performance auditing, financial reporting, strategic planning and operations management. She has a Bachelor of Commerce with Accounting from Auckland University and completed the General Manager Executive Program form INSEAD Business School. Ms. Lameko-Vaai is Chartered Accounted accredited by CPA Australia and the Samoa Institute of Accountants.
Nuni Kulu
Group Chief Operating Officer
Nuni Kulu was appointed as Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) effective Wednesday 26th April, 2023, making her the second Papua New Guinean female to succeed a senior executive role within BSP.
Before her appointment as GCOO, she had been General Manager Digital since January 1st 2019. Her appointment then, made her the second female to be appointed to the Executive of BSP as she joined Hari Rabura, General Manager Human Resources. Nuni joined the former PNG Banking Corporate (PNGBC) as a graduate and has undertaken numerous roles in Treasury and Retail Banking during the course of her career. She was a member of the BSP's Leadership Development Program and has benefited from leadership and management training at Melbourne Business School and Insead College in France. Nuni hails from Manus Province and holds a Bachelor of Commerce attained at the Australian National University with many years of experience with PNGBC / BSP. She is now the President of the Business Council of PNG.
Ronesh Dayal
Group General Manager Retail Banking
Mr. Dayal brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, spanning both life insurance and banking sectors. With 14 years of experience in CFO roles, he has served as BPS Group Chief Financial Officer since June 2020. In addition to his CFO responsibilities, Mr. Dayal is an active member of several BSP subsidiary boards and is currently leading the Banks Strategy Program. He also serves as the President of CPA Australia’s PNG Branch, showcasing his commitment to professional excellence and industry leadership. Mr. Dayal holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with double majors in Accounting and Financial Management and Information Systems.
Daniel Faunt
Group General Manager Corporate Banking
Mr. Faunt has been BSP’s Group General Manger Retail Banking since December 2020. He joined BSP in 2016 as General Manager Pacific Markets. Prior to joining BSP, Daniel worked for 20 years at ANZ and held Senior Executive roles in the Banking and Finance Industry across Australia, PNG and the Pacific Markets including over 15 years in corporate and commercial Banking. Mr. Faunt holds an MBA from Deakin University as well as a Bachelor of Business in Banking & Finance from Queensland University of Technology.
Michael Hallinan
Group Chief Risk Officer
Mike Hallinan, returned to BSP as Acting Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) after he left on 29 April 2022 following the departure of the previous GCRO for family reasons. Mike recommenced the acting GCRO role on 27 March 2023 and is assisting BSP whilst a suitable replacement is recruited. His professional career expands over 40 years in Banking and Finance holding various senior positions in Risk Management and Senior Relationship Executive roles with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, specifically managing corporate and institutional relationships including government departments, both domestically and internationally. Recent experience prior to joining BSP included the financial industry group and infrastructure project financing. Mike is familiar with PNG having previously worked for the former Papua New Guinea Banking Corporation holding the position of Executive Manager Lending Division. Mike is a qualified CPA and is a Fellow of the Australian Bankers Institute.
Peter Komon
Acting Group General Manager People & Culture
Mr. Komon has over 16 years’ experience in the Financial Service Sector. Since joining BSP in 2012, he has held various senior leadership roles within Retail Banking, including heading Rural Banking, Branch Network and more recently Payments. Prior to joining BSP, Mr. Komon worked for PNG Microfinance Ltd. Mr. Komon studied agriculture economics at the University of Sydney.
Hari Rabura
Group General Manager Corporate Affairs & Community
Ms. Rabura has over 20 years’ experience in delivering strategic HR initiatives. She has successfully led the BSP People & Culture team over the last 8 years. Hari has strong network within the communities across the Pacific & has a passion for leading social impact causes. She is a graduate of University of Goroka (PNG) and has undergone General Management training at INSEAD and Melbourne Business School.
Paul Black
Group General Manager Pacific Markets
Mr. Black is an experience Retail and Corporate Banking Executive with over 35 years’ experience in banking. Prior to joining BSP in 2011, he held various senior leadership roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia for over 22 years and has served as Deputy General Manager Corporate Banking since 2015. Over the past few years he has worked across markets, supporting BSP teams across Samoa, Vanuatu, and Cook Islands. Mr. Black’s expertise includes corporate lending, Credit Risk mitigation, negotiation and people leadership. He is a member of FINSIA and is currently completing his MBA with Australian Institute of Business.
Rohan George
Group General Manager Treasury & Markets
Rohan George was appointed Group General Manager Treasury & Markets in February 2015. Mr George has extensive knowledge in developed and emerging financial markets. His experience spans over 30 years, covering fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities and structured derivatives markets. He passionate about financial markets, managing market risk, liquidity risk and providing value add solutions for clients. Prior to joining BSP, Mr George worked at ANZ as Head of Global Markets, Cambodia & Laos (5 years), at Westpac as Treasurer PNG & Pins (8 years), and at BNP Paribas Investment Management in Sydney, as Head of Fixed Income. Mr George holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University and is accredited by both the Australian Financial Markets Association and the Sydney Futures Exchange.
Vandhna Narayan
Group General Manager Compliance
Prior to joining BSP PNG in 2018, Vandhna was attached to BSP Life as the General Manager Legal and Compliance. Vandhna has over 27 years of professional experience in a broad range of legal and compliance work in Fiji, PNG and overseas, including working in the insurance and banking industries. Vandhna studied Human Rights Law at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney Australia, where she obtained a Masters in Human Rights Law and Policy. She also has a Certificate in Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia and a Bachelor of Laws from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Richard Nicholls
Group Chief Information Officer
Richard Nicholls was appointed Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO) in May 2023.
Mr Nicholls has over 30 years of senior technology management experience in the financial services industry, having held senior technology delivery and support roles in Investment and Retail Banking in United Kingdom, Australia, Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
Prior to BSP Financial Group as GCIO, Mr Nicholls was a technology Strategic Change Management consultant for Nomura International, prior to this he was Head of Enterprise Technology Asia for Macquarie Bank based in Philippines and other technology roles in Australia.
Mr Nicholls graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
