Manager - Investments

About the Role

This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Head of BSP Capital. The successful candidate must be a PNG citizen and will be responsible to manage Client Investment Portfolios within the Prudential Standards, the Capital Markets Regulations, and relevant legislation and the respective management agreements efficiently. The incumbent will be expected to provide initial investment deal and transaction assessments for investors, and ensure timely market information is available to clients to assist in investment decision. 

The Role involves frequent contact with clients and includes traveling with the clients as and when needed.

Key Deliverables:

• Investment portfolio rebalancing and performance analysis reports regularly, and at least monthly;
• Perform relevant assessments of risks and return opportunities for potential and current clients, through the evaluation of securities, stocks, bonds, and other financial assets, for underlying investments in client’s portfolio.
• Perform Initial Investment Deal and Transaction Assessments for investors.
• Conducting meetings with client and management throughout the year.
• Sales /prospecting new clients – refer retail clients appropriately for the retail set of the FuM;
• Maintain up to date documentation of all investment relationships.
• Be familiar with CDD and ecDD, and to be able to step in when the BU needs added resource. Achieve customer service quality standards and objectives; monitor and action customer complaints;
• Quality control to ensure adherence to BSP's risk and compliance guidelines; monitoring client transactions to completion; and ensure required reports are reconciled and submitted according to guidelines;
• Representation of BSP/BCAP with credibility and professionalism on financial, business and/or marketing matters;

Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance and/or Economics;
• Investment Analysis Skills & Research Skills;
• Advanced technical skills in financial modelling.
• Advanced knowledge in financial systems.
• Technical Skills in data processing.
• Technical Skills in cost analysis, forecasting.
• Advanced technical skills in Risk analysis, and Risk Management.
• Intermediate technical skills in Treasury and International transactions;
• Proficient in Oral and Written English;
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with a bank / financial institution or an Investment Company with particular exposure to Strategies of Asset Allocation, and Investment Deals and Transaction Assessment Skills.
