Position Details

About the Role

The role is located in Port Moresby and reports to the Group General Manager Retail Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible to drive key transformation and growth projects within the retail banking sector. This strategic role also involves overseeing branch modernization, optimizing the ATM network, and providing project management expertise to support the Group General Manager (GGM) of Retail.

Key Deliverables

Branch Modernization Program Development & Implementation

  • Lead the end-to-end design and deployment of the branch modernization program, focusing on creating customer-friendly, efficient, and visually appealing retail spaces.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, and design, to ensure that each branch meets modern banking standards and enhances the in-branch customer experience.
  • Oversee program milestones, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and compliance with industry regulations, and adapt plans to meet unique branch requirements.

BSP Group ATM Network Expansion & Optimization

  • Execute a comprehensive feasibility study to identify high-impact ATM placement opportunities, considering customer access, transaction data, and regional banking needs.
  • Formulate a strategic plan for ATM deployment across the network, aligning placement with the bank’s accessibility goals and customer service targets.
  • Coordinate installation, functionality, and quality assurance across the ATM network, working with internal and external resources to optimize uptime and service consistency.

Project Support & Strategic Alignment with GGM Retail

  • Serve as the principal project manager on priority retail initiatives, providing oversight, strategic guidance, and resource coordination to support the GGM Retail.
  • Engage in ongoing project planning and risk assessment to anticipate challenges and adaptively respond to the evolving retail landscape.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure project goals align with the broader retail strategy and deliver meaningful improvements in customer experience and operational efficiency.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting, Business Management or Project Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience
  • Knowledge on use of Project management tools and techniques
  • Advanced technical skills in Bank systems/IT platforms such as General Desktop, Lending/Credit & Risk, treasury & International Finance, Electronic Banking, Audit, Programming Languages and other IT/computing products and applications
  • Advanced Technical skills in project risk management
  • Very good command of English.
  • Very Good Communication Skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills
