Position Details

About the Role

The position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Senior Relationship Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage a portfolio of business clients within the Bank’s Corporate/Commercial lending segment and develop the business for each relationship, maximizing portfolio and bank’s profitability.

Key Deliverables
  • Ensure all simple Lending applications, Credit Application, annual review are effectively and efficiently completed for specific clients.
  • Ensure financial statements are carefully analysed and information is processed into Credit Lens which will assist Credit Department in the decision making.
  • Load the Credit Applications, Moody’s Report, Risk Grade, Financial Statements via OBIEE to Credit Department for approval making sure data integrity is maintained at all times.
  • Complete all temporary overdraft requests for business clients in line with current lending policy.
  • Maintain constant with contact with Professional Valuers for property valuations, Lands Department for title search and company search in accordance with business laws and bank policy.
  • Process all new and/or increased lending applications, register and prepare documentation in consultation with Lending Support within reasonable turnaround time.
  • Maintain effective communication with business client with regards to loan processes, documentation, for approved loans and establish contact with client lawyers to process settlement in a timely manner.
  • Ensure drawdown of loans new/increase and/or partial conditions are met by clients and correct fees, interest rates and repayment schedule are appropriately applied in line with lending policy.
  • Assist Lending Assistants to upgrade skill level on the job as part of learning and development process within the business unit.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications preferably in Accounting, Economics or Business Studies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
  • Excellent communication skills both in written & oral.  Intermediate Technical Skills in Risk Management.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of BSP lending Policies & Procedures.
  • Demonstrated highly developed level of financial analysis & credit assessment skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • 5 years’ experience in Lending environment or similar role.
