Position Details

About the Role:

This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Core Banking Applications Support Lead FCUBS. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide software solutions to meet the Bank’s business requirements and support the Bank’s Core Banking system, and its reliant system applications.

Key Deliverables:
  • Learn to develop and maintain appropriate documentation as follows:
    • Develop & maintain Technical Manuals of all allocated systems
    • Develop & maintain DR Recovery Plans of all allocated systems
    • Update troubleshooting tasks if owned
    • Update operations tasks if owned
  • Learn how to analyse and resolve application software problems to meet the Bank’s business requirements or needs.
  • Learn how to provide 24/7 on-call support for the Core System Application, Flexcube, for both Test and Production environments, in accordance to agreed and set SLAs.
  • Learn how to provide analytical support for other core system applications interfacing to Flexcube so these systems work as expected.
  • Learn how to monitor software changes and analyse the impact to other applications reliant on the Core Banking System, Flexcube. This could include the Extensible layer changes.
  • Learn how to provide effective system analysis of any BSP developed application that interfaces with the Core Banking Application system.
  • Liaise with Core Banking Application vendors to help analyse and troubleshoot, and resolve application errors and recommend solutions as necessary.
  • Learn how to write system specifications and give technical advice for new or modification of the existing in-house programs, as part of ongoing business processes and systems improvement.
  • Learn how to manage software deployments, whether internal or externally delivered, through IT Change Control Process.
  • Learn how to develop, maintain and/or improve current reports, using OBIEE;
  • Ensuring Core Banking data, through extraction or reporting is done correctly and customer information is protected at all times.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology
  • Advanced Technical Skills in Computing/IT
  • Sound analytical Skills
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Application (MS Word & Excel)
  • Trouble shooting skills
  • In-depth Core Banking application knowledge
  • Oracle PL / SQL skills
  • JIRA & Confluence skills
  • Some Flexcube application knowledge
  • Previous Experience in Application Technical Support Role
  • 3+ years’ experience with Flexcube operational tasks
